You can find the perfect all-season tires at AM Rehv!

AM Rehv offers a wide selection of high-quality all-season tires designed for use in various weather conditions, from summer heat to the colds of winter.

All-season tires are engineered to adapt to the diverse weather conditions vehicles encounter throughout the year, eliminating the need to change tires at the beginning of each season. They represent a compromise between summer and winter tires, providing reliable performance across a wide range of temperatures. Their unique tread pattern combines the features of both summer and winter tires, ensuring adequate grip on dry, wet, icy, and snowy roads.

Main Features of All-Season Tires:

As a compromise solution, all-season tires feature an intermediate tread depth and complex pattern, allowing to safely drive in moderate snow and rain conditions year-round.

In winter, all-season tires offer sufficient grip on snow and ice. However, their performance may be inadequate on icy and deep snow-covered roads, with longer braking distances, especially on icy surfaces. Handling is satisfactory in moderate winter conditions, but during very low temperatures or heavy snowfall, performance may decline.

In summer, all-season tires provide good grip on both dry and wet roads, but they fall short compared to summer tires in hot weather. It should be taken into consideration that at high speeds, all-season tires lack the maneuverability and stability of summer tires. Also at higher temperatures, braking distances are longer compared to summer tires.

Key Features of All-Season Tires:

  • “All Season” or “All Weather” – indicates that the tire is suitable for year-round use.
  • “M+S” (Mud and Snow) – signifies the tire’s capability to handle muddy and snowy roads, but this does not guarantee good performance on ice or in deep snow.
  • Snowflake symbol with a three-peaked mountain (3PMSF) – shows that the tire meets snow performance standards.

What to Consider When Buying All-Season Tires:

When selecting tires, you should follow the dimensions recommended by the car manufacturer, including:

  • Tire width
  • Tire height
  • Diameter

It’s also essential to check the tire’s load and speed index to ensure they match the vehicle’s maximum speed and weight:

  • Load index indicates the maximum weight the tire can carry.
  • Speed index shows the maximum speed at which the tire operates safely.

Additionally, consider the tread pattern, which affects tire grip. The main tread pattern types include:

  • Symmetrical – ensures a smooth and quiet ride, suitable for moderate climates.
  • Asymmetrical – combines different tread characteristics to improve grip on both dry and wet roads.
  • Directional – provides excellent water and snow drainage, reducing the risk of hydroplaning.

Example tire designation:

All-Season Tire 205/55 R16 91V, where:

  • 205 – tire width in millimeters
  • 55 – height (percentage ratio between height and width)
  • R – radial tire
  • 16 – rim diameter in inches
  • 91 – load index
  • V – speed index
